As the surplus for 365pf caps has dried up, these little beauties are getting harder and harder to find. Not anymore! The Society now has a plentiful supply; we had them manufactured. They are brand new caps, 31 blade, .010-air-gap with 5/8" tuning shaft, CCW rotation, slotted end rotor blades. The Dual Gang 365pf capacitors are also available, same as above, just two sections with trimmers. This capacitor is useful for receiver and antenna tuning in the longwave, AM, and shortwave bands from 50 KHz to 5 MHz.
Most capacitors of this type go from 20 pF to 365 pF. Our unit will go up to 384 pF. This gives you a little extra room to center the band or tune just slightly lower.

Easy Horizontal Mounting Without a shim or spacer, the phe connector boards at each end of the XS-365 air-variable capacitor can be broken if you're mounting the cap from the bottom, rendering the cap useless. We now stock the 1/8th inch aluminum spacer . As indicated, it fits between the phenolic (pcb) legs and matches up with the holes in the bottom of the cap such that the phenolic is not pressed against the mounting surface when tightening with 6-32 hardware. The 6-32 machine screws must be 3/8ths or ?inch, depending upon the thickness of the mounting surface. With longer screws, the tip will press against the plates and short out the cap! Get the sharpest and cleanest signals that only an Air Dielectric Variable Capacitor can give you! Use this capacitor with your own air coil (shown at left) or a coil wound on our ferrite antenna rod for improved reception. Perfect for building crystal radios!
