The Model 1103 Moisture Indicator is an easy to read "analog" style moving needle meter with printed scales for measuring moisture content in concrete materials. It is a 2.5% accuracy class, precision instrument, which is calibrated for measuring moisture content in concrete and other surface. It uses non-penetrating, non-invasive, surface contact based measurement. It has a large easy to read display and does not suffer from the reading interpretation issues of many digital moisture meters.
The meter has an on - off switch and a 'CAL' (Calibration) knob. The switch should be turned to the 'OFF' position whenever the instrument is not being used. The 'CAL' knob must be adjusted prior to use with the meter sitting on a calibrator plate until the dial reads 'full scale' (fully to the right hand side line Cal / 10).

The moisture level of the soil is shown by the number of LEDs, from 1 LED for low moisture level up to 4 LEDs for high moisture level.
