The Hedland Flowmeter and Flowalerts are variable area instruments.
A precision machined, sharp edged Orifice located within the piston Assembly;
forms an annular opening with the contoured Metering Cone.
The piston Assembly carries a cylindrical PPS/Ceramio Magnet,
that is magnetically coupled to an external indicating Magnet that moves precisely in direct response to movement of the Piston.
The HPD flow meters maintain a consistent accuracy within ±0.5% at low flow rates, despite changing viscosity conditions. These rugged meters utilize stainless steel gears and bearings and are offered in bodies constructed of 303 or 316 stainless steel or high strength aluminum. Available in ¼”, ½” and 1¼” NPT port sizes for flow ranges from a low .003 to 120 gallons per minute, these meters can operate at pressures up to 5,000 PSI and temperatures up to 400 ºF.

Hedland Flow Meters and in-line Flow Sensors are offered in aluminum, brass, stainless steel and polysulfone to monitor
a wide range of fluids.
Aluminum is offered as a rugged, low cost flow meter for monitoring non corrosive water-based or petroleum-based fluids,
in flow ranges up to 300 GPM, under pressures up to 3000 PSI. Brass models are recommended for water systems
or other applications where galvanic corrosion could become a problem.
Brass units are available in flow ranges up to 130 GPM, rated to withstand pressures up to 3000 PSI.The Hedland product line includes over 7,000 in-line variable area type flow meters, designed to monitor oil, phosphate ester, water and water-based emulsions, air and other compressed gases.
